(Swiss) Digital Sovereignty

Digital sovereignty encompasses the concept of exerting authority over one's own digital future, encompassing the data, hardware, and software that are integral to one's operations and creations. Numerous policymakers express apprehension regarding the excessive concentration of control in a few entities, the limited options in the technology market, and the disproportionate influence wielded by a handful of prominent technology corporations.

My colleagues from Zurich based interdisciplinary think tank WIRE developed the position paper ‘Swiss Digital Sovereignty’, which explains the importance of this concept for ‘future resilience’ of a country and outlines key areas for action at the example of Switzerland.
