Status as a Service (StaaS)

I love this article from Eugene Wei’s blog ‘Remains of the Day’.

His thesis is that we - as in people - are status seeking monkeys and that we usually seek out the most efficient path to maximising social capital.

He claims that we seldom see social networks, some of the largest and fastest-growing companies in the history of the world, analysed on the dimension of status or social capital.

His idea to draw analogies between social networks and ICOs (Initial Coin Offerings) is a fascinating approach.
